FORREST SAYS...IT'S THANKSGIVING!

Hoy hemos celebrado Acción de Gracias en el cole. 

Today we have celebrated Thanksgiving. 

Los auxiliares nos han explicado en qué consiste esta festividad y por qué se celebra. 

The language assistants have explained us what is it and how it is celebrated. 

Después hemos reflexionado sobre la gratitud. Cada alumn@ ha escrito un mensaje de gratitud en una pluma y entre todos hemos formado la cola de este bonito pavo.

 

Finally we have thought about the gratitude. Each student has written a grateful message on a feather and we formed the tail of this beatiful turkey.

PRIMERO

En primero estamos trabajando el tema de la familia creando una actividad de solapas en el cuaderno para repasar el vocabulario. 

At the first grade we are working on the topic of family by making a flap activity to review vocabulary. 

TERCERO

Nuestros alumnos de 3º están muy ilusionados preparando el proyecto de Science para las Jornadas de puestas abiertas. Como podéis ver, estamos trabajando sobre el sistema esquelético. 

Our 3 grade students are very excited preparing the Science project for the Open Days. As you can see, we are working on the skeletal system.

CUARTO
The students learn the jobs in English and have fun playing the game "what am I?".

Los alumnos aprenden los trabajos en inglés y se lo pasan bien jugando a "¿qué soy?"

QUINTO
En 5º de Primaria hemos terminado el primer tema de Social Sciences. Ya sabemos mucho sobre la población, en España y en la Unión Europea, y cómo representarla en diferentes gráficas.

In 5th grade, we ha finished the first Social Sciences Unir. We already know a lot of things about population, in Spain and in the UE, and how to represent it un different types of graphs.

SEXTO 
In sixth grade we are doing this lapbooks to review the function of nutrition.

En sexto estamos haciendo estos lapbooks para repasar la función de nutrición.

FORREST SAYS... IT'S GUY FAWKES' DAY!

Guy Fawkes' Day is celebrated on the 5th of November in England. It celebrates the failure of a plot against the English government in 1605. Guy Fawkes was the man who planned  to blow the Houses of Parliament. People celebrate it with fireworks and bonfires. 

El día de Guy Fawkes se celebra el 5 de noviembre en Inglaterra. Celebra la conspiración fallida contra el govierno inglés en 1605. Guy Fawkes fue el hombre que planeó volar por los aires el parlamento. La gente lo celebra con fuegos artificiales y hogueras.

FORREST SAYS...IT'S HALLOWEEN!

The last 30th of October we celebrated Halloween at the school. It was great fun! 

El pasado 30 de octubre celebramos Halloween en el colegio. ¡Fue muy divertido!

There was a Jack 'O Lantern Contest.
Hubo un concurso de calabazas. 

These are the winning pumpkins. 
Estas son las calabazas ganadoras. 

There was a Haunted House that the language assistants prepared. We got very scared! Well done Alex, Cynthia and Martha!

Hubo una Casa Encantada que prepararon los auxiliares lingüísticos. ¡Nos asustaron mucho! ¡Bien hecho Alex, Cynthia y Martha!

On the afternoon each group did something diferent: 
Por la tarde cada grupo hizo algo diferente: 


1º  Storytelling: Ten Timid Ghosts and role-play. 
Create and decorate our own pumpkin. 

Cuentacuentos: Ten TImid Ghosts y role-play. 
Creamos y decoramos nuestra propia calabaza. 

2º Last 30th October, our second grade students celebrated Hallowe’en taking part in different
workshops- such as making a witch puppet out of a plastic spoon and some wool. Furthermore,
they hold a contest on “Trick or Treat” rhymes and took part on “The Sticky Substances”. They
really had fun!!!!
El pasado 30 de octubre, nuestros alumnos de 2º E.P celebraron Hallowe’en participando en
diferentes talleres; tales como hacer una marioneta con forma de bruja con una cuchara y lana.
Ademas, tuvieron un concurso de rimas de Truco o Trato y participaron en otro taller de
substancias pegajosas. ¡ Se lo pasaron muy bien!.

3º. We have an I spy activity. We also wrote terrifying stories.
Hicimos un I Spy. Y también escribimos relatos terroríficos. 

 

5º The 5th graders had a perfect day. The lessons were all about Halloween: math problems about a mummy buying bandages and a comprehensive reading. We also painted some mandalas and Frankestein. 
Later we watch Coco and in the meantime Agustin and Isabel came by to give the Jack 'O Lantern contest prizes.
 It has been a great day!
En 5º hemos pasado un día terroríficamente perfecto! Durante el día las clases han sido tematizadas: hemos hecho una ficha de problemas de Halloween de una momia que compraba vendas y una lectura comprensiva sobre este día.
Además, hemos pintado mándalas y dibujos de Frankestein.
Por la tarde hemos hecho un vídeo fórum de la película CoCo y, mientras la veíamos, han venido Agustín e Isabel a dar los premios del concurso de calabazas.
¡Ha sido un día genial!

 

6º Hicimos un crucigrama sobre la historia de la celebración de Halloween en inglés. Por la tarde tocó videofórum. 

We did a cross word about Halloween's history in english. On the afternoon we watch a movie.
